So yesterday, Claudia and I signed a deal. A deal that will put Claudia more in the entrepreneurial ring. A deal that was all relationship!

Here is how the deal went:

Dynamic Progress is Claudia’s company. Dynamic Progress is currently focusing on building boot camps at gymnastics centers in north San Antonio (we are looking at other areas in the city but we want to grow consistently). Fitness boot camp training at gymnastics center is WAY FUN! There are ropes and bouncy things and mats and trampolines and WAY FUN STUFF! Sorry, back to the point…

So in order to build fitness boot camp training programs at gymnastics centers, we actually needed to find a gymnastics center that would allow us access to their facility. About 2 miles from our house is a gymnastics center that ‘the girls’ go to. I drove down the road and stopped in to introduce myself. I walked in, smiled, asked to see the manager or owner and asked if he was open to discuss a space agreement that would benefit his cash flow. He said,  “that sounds great! Let me get you my fitness manager and you can discuss it and then I’ll make the decision.”

The fitness manager was not available, so I left our card and a short note. He said that he would give it to her and I should expect a call around 3 that afternoon.I didn’t receive her call but I can’t remember if I called that afternoon or the next day… Anyway, I called and got her on the phone. I explained our position and how we would add cash flow to their business during their non-hours. She said that sounded like a great deal and then she stopped. She hesitated for a bit and then said, “wait, I know a Claudia Ramirez. Is this the Claudia Ramirez at Healthlink?” I said it is. Then she asked if I was Claudia’s Brandi Jo. I said yes, I belong to Claudia.

She said this is great what do we do now. I said I have a contract and an explanation of our program and we should meet in person to discuss. We set the meeting up for the next day. Simple. Right?

Yes and no. Simple how I framed the deal. But not so simple how it worked out. You see, this is an 8 year deal in the making – kind of. You see the fitness manager at Alamo Gymnastics Center is Heidi. Heidi was an intern for Claudia. Heidi respects Claudia and hopefully she knows that Claudia respects her. Claudia gave her a grade that enabled her to graduate with an exercise science degree (or something like that) from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

The planets and stars didn’t have to align themselves perfectly. The planets and stars were already aligned, they just needed to be discovered. That discovery happened when I walked into Alamo Gymnastics Center and found a smiling face and a fellow entrepreneur.
